C: "Nnn? Where the hell am I...?" As your consciousness seeps back into your head, you realize that you are slumped in a back alley, propped against some kind of cart. Your jacket is laying on top of you, and your nose is full of the smell of oil, and bile. You do not recognize this place, and you still don’t remember how you came to be here. In fact, as you awaken more fully, you are starting to realize that you don’t remember very much at all.

>> Take inventory of yourself and your surroundings. C: “...okay. Get a grip. You can figure this out, Cal.” You look at your surroundings first. The alley way that you’re in is dark, and the persistent and heavy mist hanging in the air obscures your vision. You can’t see how far the alley extends or what might be beyond its mouth. A single bare and lonely bulb struggles to illuminate your immediate area, buzzing ominously. There’s the rusty old farm cart that you woke up against, its belly filled with bulging, greasy sacks of something that smells unappetizing, to say the least. What the hell a piece of farm equipment is doing in a city alley you have no idea. Beyond the cart, there’s a heavy, industrial door set into the back wall of the alley, and a barred window to the left with heavy, dark glass that gives no hint of what might be beyond it.On the right of the alley, there’s an old, incredibly rusted looking fire escape that goes further up the building and disappears into the mist.

C: “Either something weird's going on or we must have had one hell of a graduation party..." Next you check yourself over. Well, you’re mostly dressed at least, so that’s…. good.The pockets of your jeans are empty,and if you were wearing an actual shirt over your tank top it's god knows where right now. The clammy chill permeates your upper body. As you pat yourself down your “dog tag” ID jingles around your neck, a souvenir of your time in ROTC and reminder that your military career is about to start. Those are familiar, but the thick leather collar that is strapped around your neck is…. Not. Where the hell did it come from? Some kind of prank? You can’t immediately find a way to take it off. You push your hair out of your face and realize with growing concern that it shouldn’t be in your face at all. Last you checked, you had a buzz cut.

>> Put on your jacket, check the pockets...maybe something there will jog your memory… You pick your coat up off the ground and give it a rough shake just in case, before you put it on. You hear something metallic clinking in the pockets. Shrugging your coat over your shoulders you stick your hands in the pockets and examine the contents. The first item you pull out is a metal lighter with the silhouette of a deer, and your initials engraved on it. You recall in a flash that this was your older brother Sully’s graduation gift to you, only a few days ago. But if that’s the case then why is it now tarnished and scratched? Nervously you pull the second item from your coat.

C: “Sully's Westchester .45 Single Action.... But why have I got it with me...?" Despite your lifelong familiarity with guns, you feel yourself jump as if stung as you draw the revolver out of your pocket. Another gift, but this one was from your father to Sully, for his upcoming wedding. Why would you have it with you? Despite the shock, finding the gun helps crystalize your memory into larger, still somewhat jumbled fragments. You are Callahan Westchester, second son of Waylon Westchester, the current owner of the Westchester Arms Corporation. You had just graduated from college and the ROTC, and were preparing to enter the army full time, the same week as your older brother’s upcoming wedding.

>Check the revolver. See if it is loaded. C: "One empty chamber...not sure I like that." You flip open the cylinder and check it, turning it with your thumb. Five bullets. One empty chamber.... Has it been fired recently? Why the hell is it loaded? Knocked out in an alleyway with a loaded gun. That'll be fun to explain to your drill sergeant.

> Check if the lighter still works. Maybe we can shed some light on this situation! C: "Thanks, Sully...from the look of things here, I'm gonna need all the light I can get." Putting away the gun carefully for the moment you flick the lighter that Sully gave you. A warm glow springs to life from it, and you can feel the slight weight of its full belly. It should last you a good long time.

>Check the door, the fire escape doesn't look entirely trustworthy. Your eyes flick to the rusty fire escape. Yeah you’re not going on that thing unless absolutely necessary. You put your hand on the door, and feel it push open under your hand. It looks like you can enter....
