You run into the slightly open door, hands out to open it– and meet sudden, hard and heavy resistance only a moment later. There’s something behind the door, keeping it mostly closed! You might possibly be able to squeeze in with it open now, or pushing harder might dislodge whatever’s behind it.

Either way you only have a moment, you can hear that thing clattering up behind you.
